A Spanish Fork man was killed Wednesday morning in a three-car accident near Spanish Fork.
Bryce Christensen, 21, was traveling north on Interstate 15 at milepost 258 just before 8 a.m. when police say his vehicle was struck by a sport utility vehicle merging from U.S. Highway 6.
Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden said Mindy Stahle, also of Spanish Fork, lost control of her 1999 Ford Explorer while merging after hitting a patch of ice.
Stahle's car slid to the left, hitting Christensen's 2002 Toyota Rav 4 and spinning both cars to the right side of the road. Roden said both cars spun and hit a concrete barrier, at which point Christensen's car continued to spin back into traffic, where it was hit in the driver's side door by an oncoming semitrailer.
Christensen was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo with head trauma, where he later died. Roden said there were no other injuries reported, and a citation is pending for Stahle.
