A 50-year-old man was shot by police this morning near Lincoln Beach at Utah Lake, Utah County Sheriff's officials say.
The man was shot by two officers after ramming a police car and pointing a gun at them, officials said.
According to Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office, the man was on the phone with police dispatchers starting around 9:33 a.m. today. He told them he had a gun and had taken medication. He also said that he was shooting indiscriminately in and around his truck, which was in the area of Lincoln Beach.
The Sheriff's Office used a plane to find him, Cannon said.
