Utah County attorney candidate Jeff Buhman has added more high-profile endorsements in his bid to unseat incumbent Kay Bryson.
The Provo Police Officers Association issued its endorsement for Buhman last week. On Thursday, his campaign added seven former deputy county attorneys to that list and repeated the assertions of morale and leadership problems in the county attorney's office.
"Despite claims by the current administration, many of the former (county) attorneys agree that poor office morale and poor leadership and management contributed to their departure," says a statement from the campaign.
Buhman, Bryson and Curtis Larson are competing for the GOP nomination in the county attorney race. Bryson has held the office for four terms; Buhman and Larson are both attorneys working under Bryson.
Neither Bryson nor Larson currently list endorsements on their campaign Web sites. Bryson said Thursday that he has several endorsements but hasn't posted them yet, and said he wouldn't be able to provide a list until today.
Larson did not return a phone call seeking comment Thursday night.
The Provo police association has supported Bryson in the past, but in a statement said that "it is time for a change in the administration of the County Attorney's Office."
