The Utah County Health Department, in partnership with other local health partners, is sponsoring the Childhood Wellness Health Fair today from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Utah County Health and Justice Center at 151 S University Ave. in Provo.
The focus of the event is to promote childhood health in Utah County.
"We will be giving immunizations to help kids get up-to-date," said Pauline Hartvigsen, bureau director for the department's Family Health Division. "The kids will probably like the activities, prizes and games better, but immunizations are one of the simplest methods for parents to help keep their kids healthy."
Hartvigsen also said there would be informational booths on such topics as nutrition, disease prevention, dental health and injury prevention.
"Parents with children of all ages are invited, but we are specifically focusing on those with kids under the age of 5," she said.
Besides the health department, representatives from local day-care centers, Headstart, Kids on the Move, and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will be present.
