Provisional ballots were opened and counted during Wednesday's Pleasant Grove City Council meeting, adding to the totals, but not changing the outcome of Tuesday's election.
Provisional ballots are those cast by voters that must be verified because they were not on the precincts' lists. Forty-one provisional ballots were counted during the meeting.
After Tuesday's election, two council candidates were just one vote apart. Now, they are three votes apart. Incumbent Lee Jensen has a total of 1,892 votes and Milt Fugal has 1,895.
Because they are less than 15 votes apart, Jensen has the option of requesting a recount of all votes. According to Mayor Michael Daniels, the recount must be requested within seven days after next Tuesday's election canvass. The results remain unofficial until the canvass.
Provisional Votes: New Total:
Mayor:
Bruce Call 28 2,302
Jeffrey Wilson 13 1,589
Council: (two seats)
Laurel Backman Riddle 15 1,687
Milt Fugal 21 1,895
Lee Jensen 19 1,892
Kimberly Robinson 25 2,132
