Utah County Search and Rescue pulled 11 people from a boat that was sinking in the entrance to American Fork Boat Harbor.

All of the boaters wore life jackets. The ski boat that was being swamped by waves. The initial call came in shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The rescue was assisted by the American Fork Fire Department, which was doing exercises close by, and hooked a rope to the boat to tow it in.

Two other boats, both sailboats, were also towed. Another boater towed one to the Lindon Marina, and Ranger Charity Gibson from the Utah State Parks Department towed another to Provo.

The incidents were caused by a storm coming over the lake, Gibson said.
