SPANISH FORK CANYON -- A Provo man was killed in a head-on collision in Spanish Fork Canyon Sunday morning.

According to Cpl. Todd Johnson with the Utah Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Kevin Arledge of Provo was traveling east on U.S. Highway 6 just after 8 a.m. when he suddenly crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into a semitrailer carrying a load of ATVs.

Arledge was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson said the accident is still under investigation and they don't know what caused Arledge to swerve into oncoming traffic. He said the initial report indicated that speed or impairment were not factors in the accident.

The driver of the semitrailer was not injured.
