Amy Jackson has touched many lives in Santaquin and will be honored during the city's Orchard Days Grand Parade on Saturday, Aug. 7.
After many nominations from local residents, Santaquin City chose Jackson as grand marshal of the parade. Jackson, who passed away on Saturday, July 3 from cancer, served the community in a variety of ways and will be honored and remembered for her active part in the community.
Her husband Gary and their children will ride in the parade representing Amy.
Amy has helped the city in many capacities including helping the Santaquin Area Chamber of Commerce with the Light Parade, coaching teams for Santaquin City Recreation, chairing the Orchard Days Parade for more than five years and helping with the Little/Junior Miss Santaquin Pageants and floats. Amy has also dedicated much of her time in local schools and serving as an ecclesiastical leader.
Many residents have said many wonderful things about the person that Amy was. She reached out to many in the community, offering her service and friendship unconditionally, going above and beyond in her endeavors and helping others in their assignments too if needed.
