The Mapleton Parkway Running Trails Committee is sponsoring a Moonlight Half Marathon on Friday, Aug. 7, starting from 9 to 10:30 p.m. in Hobble Creek Canyon and ending at midnight with a party at the Ira Allen Park in Mapleton. All proceeds will go towards the trails in Mapleton.

This is meant to be a fun run, so the long start time. Slower runners start earlier, faster runners start later. You decide exactly when. Awards will be given to the first to cross the finish line after midnight. No timing devices will be allowed. They will have glow necklaces and bracelets and T-shirts.

Most people will cross the finish line around midnight, then the after party begins. There will be lots of food and music.
