The American Legion Department of Utah held their State Convention in Sandy June 19, 20 and 21. Attorney General Mark Shurtleff and U.S. Representative Jim Matheson were among the many guest speakers. They talked about how they are helping to get a Veteran's nursing home in the Utah County area, the flag amendment, Veteran's assistance and V.A. Hospital care. Post & Unit #28 members of Springville were elected to Department officers. Keith Davis, left, was elected Department Historian, Marva Davis was elected Department Auxiliary Chaplain and Frank Davis was elected Commander of District #4 (Lehi to Nephi).
