The race is back on after a flap over financial disclosures was worked out.

Santaquin mayoral hopeful Filip Askerlund was automatically kicked off the ballot last week when he failed to file financial disclosures on time. He was given the wrong dates at a meeting, then apparently failed to open an e-mail with the right information.

Many folks with overloaded e-mail inboxes probably sympathize with his plight.

Askerlund said he spent three sleepless nights fretting about the problem. That might be a fitting punishment. If he is elected, he'll have a lot of little details to look after. Maybe he learned something useful from this.

A 4th District judge reinstated him. His error seems to have been unintentional, and not entirely his fault.

Also, in Santaquin the race for mayor has been more intense than usual. Major issues loom, and residents deserve a choice. It's good that today they will get one after all.
