A highlight of Tuesday's GOP convention was an appearance by Mia Love, the mayor of Saratoga Springs who is running for the House of Representatives against long-time Democrat incumbent Jim Matheson.
Let's not mince words: Love was spectacular. She had the audience eating out of her hand.
The speech was supposed to be two minutes long, but the charismatic Love got so much sustained enthusiasm from the delegates that it went longer. And that was on top of an impressive video that outlined her politics and warmly introduced her family.
In many ways, this speech was more impressive that Ann Romney's.
If we were in Matheson's shoes, we'd be sweating. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich commented that she was certain to win. We would tend to agree.
