My only car is a big 19-year-old clunker. It gets me 20 mpg around town and 30, sometime 32, on the interstate. That's real mileage. It's comparable to the artificial laboratory mpg new cars get.
The government wants me to trade my clunker in (June 10 Herald) to get better mileage? Also to get some of my taxes back.
But with new cars costing $30,000, I think I'll wait for a better deal when I can get some of your tax money back too.
