UVSC should sign up with Orem for recycling service
Utah Valley State College has a problem with wasting valuable resources.
Each year there are tons of garbage shipped out to be destroyed. The college campus does a good job at keeping the college clean of garbage; however, they are putting it into the wrong place, the garbage bin.
The campus already has a recycling program; however, this program is limited. The campus only allows for aluminum and some paper to be recycled. This allows tons of good, useful trash to go to waste.
This problem would be one easily fixed. Orem already has an excellent recycling program. This recycling program covers paper, plastic, aluminum, tin and many more items.
If the college were to get involved with this program, it would just need to sign up as a subscriber and get enough bins to cover the campus. These bins could be placed by the garbage bins around the campus and the janitors could empty them on their regular rounds.
This solution would take no more staffing, would cost very little to the campus, and would help out the economy of the city and the world.
