Two years ago, Chris Cannon defeated a Republican opponent based on an expensive ad campaign that accused his opponent of supporting giving Utah drivers licenses to illegal immigrants and accused his opponent of mudslinging.
The reality of these issues was that his opponent was in the forefront of fighting against Utah awarding illegal immigrants with drivers licenses, and the alleged "mudslinging" was composed solely of quoting statements that Cannon had made concerning immigration.
While I did not agree with Cannon's liberal views on immigration, I chose not to support him because his campaign lacked integrity.
This election, Cannon is up to his old tricks. He is using the airwaves to suggest that his opponent is a mudslinger, and simultaneously doing phone surveys to engage in mudslinging himself.
Regardless of the issues, I will not support Cannon. We need representatives with integrity. Cannon has proved that he will do whatever it takes to win, regardless of whether it is honest or not.
