SALT LAKE CITY -- The FBI says one of the two strains of anthrax sent out in letters in 2001 was produced at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah.
Five people died after being exposed to the deadly toxin, which was sent out in letters seven years ago.
The FBI released documents Wednesday, referring to spores from the Utah testing facility as one of the deadly strains.
An Army scientist accused of the anthrax attacks killed himself last week. The FBI says he was working at Fort Detrick in Maryland and obtained the anthrax from Dugway.
A Dugway spokeswoman says anthrax is tested at the facility, which covers about 800,000 acres in Tooele County.
