Ramen revolution

EPHRAIM-- Emergency in the kitchen. All that is left are a few odds and ends and ramen. What to eat at this point? Students eat the Ramen, then more Ramen, till they are sick of the stuff. It's time to find a more creative way to eat it, since it's all we can afford. Peanut butter? Raisins? Jello? Yes, we resort to these to make it more flavorful, or at least they will after seeing these recipes:

Ramen Trail Mix

1 pkg. Ramen Noodles, Broken into pieces

2 T. Oil

1 c. Dried Cranberries

1 c. Sliced Almonds

1 c. Dried Raisins

1 c. Sunflower Seeds

Heat oil in a small frying pan, once the oil is hot, add ramen. Sauté until brown and crispy; Cool. Add remaining ingredients in a Ziploc bag. Seal the bag and shake to combine.

Peanut Butter Munchies

5 T. Peanut Butter

1 pkg. Ramen Noodles

º c. Melted Chocolate

Spoon Peanut Butter into a small bowl. Break up ramen noodles into 10 chunks. Coat each chunk with peanut butter. Place on cookie sheet. Drizzle chocolate over peanut butter. Chill for 15 minutes.

Jello Ramen Noodles

1 pkg. Ramen Noodles (crushed)

1 pkg. Jello

1 T. Vegetable oil

1 c. Cold Water

1 c. Hot Water

In small frying pan, heat oil. Once hot; add crushed ramen noodles. Sauté until lightly browned. Remove from heat. In separate bowl, combine jello and hot water. Stir until dissolved. Add cold water. Mix until well blended. Add ramen noodles. Place in fridge to set.

Ramen Mac n' Cheese

1 pkg. Ramen Noodles

Water

3 or 4 slices American Cheese

Sprinkle of Parmesan Cheese

Shredded Assortment of Cheese

Put ramen noodles into a bowl and fill with enough water to cover noodles. Cook in microwave 3 or 4 minutes till tender. Do NOT drain water. Add all the cheese until thick enough. Add ramen seasoning packet and stir.

Hamburger Ramen

1 pkg. Beef Ramen Noodles

2 c. Water

½ pound Ground Beef

Brown Beef. Drain fat. Season to taste using º-½ of seasoning packet. Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. Mix together.

Armed with this arsenal of recipes, go save dinner, one package of Ramen at a time.
