WACO, Texas -- Andrea Riley scored 27 points and Shaunte Smith added 17, as No. 20 Oklahoma State beat No. 8 Baylor 72-68 Thursday night to dash the Bears' chance of sharing the Big 12 regular season championship.
Maria Cordero added nine points for the Cowgirls (23-6, 11-5), seven of them coming in the final four minutes.
Angela Tisdale had 18 points for Baylor (24-5, 12-4), which could have tied Kansas State for the regular season conference title. Jessica Morrow and Danielle Wilson had 11 each.
• No. 16 Old Dominion 91, Hofstra 71: At Norfolk, Va., Shahida Williams scored 18 points, Tiffany Green had 16 and Jessica Canady 15 to lead the Lady Monarchs.
Old Dominion (26-4, 17-1 Colonial Athletic Association) scored the final five points of the first half to take a 44-31 advantage at the break. Hofstra (5-24, 3-15) got close early in the second half, but Old Dominion used a 10-2 run to pull away.
Candice Bellocchio scored 21 for Hofstra.
• No. 17 Texas A&M 73, No. 11 Oklahoma 59: At College Station, Texas, Danielle Gant had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Aggies to their sixth straight win and third in a row over a Top 25 team.
Texas A&M (23-7, 11-5 Big 12) finishes the regular season with wins in 10 of its last 11 games after starting conference play 1-4. The Aggies led this one from start to finish and maintained a double-digit lead through most of the game.
Courtney Paris had 27 points and 11 rebounds for Oklahoma (21-7, 11-5).
• No. 23 Georgia 71, Alabama 62: At Nashville, Tenn., Christy Marshall and Ashley Houts each scored 15 points, and Georgia survived a surprisingly tough first-round game at the SEC women's tournament. Tasha Humphrey added 11 points for fifth-seeded Georgia (22-8), which won for the fifth time in six games and will play No. 4 seed Kentucky in the quarterfinals tonight.
• Providence 85, No. 13 Connecticut 76: At Providence, R.I., WeyinmiEfejuku scored 25 points and Providence beat No. 13 Connecticut to keep alive its chances of qualifying for the Big East tournament.
Jeff Xavier added 21 points for the Friars (15-14, 6-11), who swept the Huskies this season. Providence closes its regular season at home against Villanova on Saturday. The Friars are tied for the 12th and last spot available in the tournament that starts next week in New York.
• Georgia Tech 80, No. 24 Clemson 75: At Atlanta, Zack Peacock hit four straight free throws in the final 16 seconds for Georgia Tech.
The Tigers (21-8, 9-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) were coming off the largest second-half deficit in school history in a 73-70 victory at Maryland five days ago. But Clemson never led after Moe Miller's 3-pointer with 11:52 left in the game.
Terrence Oglesby, who hit the winning 3-pointer against the Terrapins, missed a 26-footer with 22.5 seconds that would've tied the game at 76.
• Saint Joseph's 71, No. 8 Xavier 66: At Philadelphia, Pat Calathes scored 17 points and Saint Joseph's closed Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse with one more upset win.
With former Hawks stars, including Jack Ramsay and Jameer Nelson courtside, Saint Joseph's (18-10, 9-6 Atlantic 10) added to the history of its venerable arena. Playing the 401st and final game in their on-campus arena until the 2009-10 season, the Hawks marked the occasion by knocking off No. 8 Xavier, the highest-ranked opponent to lose at the Fieldhouse.
• No. 17 Michigan State 59, Illinois 51: At Champaign, Ill., senior guard Drew Neitzel overcame a slow start to score 17 points and lead No. 17 Michigan State.
Illinois led most of the first half and by as many as 10 points. But Michigan State (24-7, 12-5 Big Ten) took its first lead with 2:29 left in the first half on a layup by Neitzel, 31-29, and never trailed again.
