Jazz announce 2008-09 television schedule
SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz released on Wednesday the television schedule for the 2008-09 season and for the fourth straight year, all 82 games will be televised. Also for the first time, the Jazz will televise all seven preseason games.
This season, 16 regular-season games will air on KJZZ-TV and 60 regular-season games will be televised by FSN Utah. The remaining six regular-season games will be televised exclusively by TNT. For the fourth straight season, Craig Bolerjack will team with long-time Jazz analyst Ron Boone on all KJZZ-TV and FSN Utah broadcasts.
All 76 broadcasts on KJZZ-TV and FSN Utah will feature a 30-minute pre- and postgame show, "Jazz Live," which is hosted by David James, Thurl Bailey and Pace Mannion.
Legendary Jazz broadcaster "Hot" Rod Hundley enters his 35th season calling Jazz games as he will once again broadcast the games on radio for 1320 KFAN/B98.7 and the Jazz Radio Network. David Locke will host the pre-game show on 1320 KFAN.
"With the addition of all seven preseason games, this will be the first year in our history that our fans will be able to watch and listen to every game the Jazz play," said Chris Baum, Senior Vice President of Broadcasting for the Utah Jazz. "We're very fortunate to have dedicated partners like FSN Utah, KJZZ-TV and 1320 KFAN that make this possible. With our expert team of broadcasters and analysts all returning, we're looking forward to another great season of Jazz basketball."
KJZZ-TV will tip off its broadcast schedule by televising all seven preseason games. KJZZ-TV will then carry 16 regular season games (12 home, 4 away), beginning with the Nov. 5 game vs. Portland.
FSN Utah, which will carry 60 regular-season games (25 home, 35 away), opens its broadcast schedule with the Jazz's regular-season opener Oct. 29 against the Denver Nuggets.
The complete HD schedule for both networks will be released at a later date.

Landis, team in negotiations for 2009 comeback
Floyd Landis is preparing his own comeback.
The American who won the 2006 Tour de France but then had his title stripped for a positive doping test is looking to return to a team run by Momentum Sports Group.
"We are in negotiations with Floyd Landis to ride for the team in 2009, but we do not as of yet have a signed contract," said team director Mike Tamayo at the Tour of Missouri.
Landis did not return messages left by The Associated Press on his phone and via e-mail.
The comeback first was reported by Cyclingnews.com.
Landis' suspension ends Jan. 30, 2009 and it's no surprise that the 32-year-old cyclist intends to come back. Since his positive test rocked the cycling world in 2006, he has been on the sideline, fighting and losing the case at every level, trying to make ends meet and seeking a return.
Landis served as an adviser for Rock Racing, but rumors that he might race for the team never panned out.
The news of Landis' intent to return comes on the heels of Lance Armstrong's announcement that he plans to race in the 2009 Tour de France. Armstrong, who won the Tour seven straight times before Landis took the title in 2006, said racing last month in the Leadville 100 in Colorado "totally kick-started my engine."
Landis participated in that race in 2007, finishing 1 minute, 43 seconds out of the lead. He was able to race in Leadville and a few other small races that did not fall under anti-doping regulations.
Landis always has said he was clean and was victimized by an anti-doping system he says is rigged against athletes.

U.S. wins fifth straight with victory over T&T
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- Clint Dempsey scored his fourth goal in four games, Michael Bradley and Brian Ching padded the margin, and the United States beat Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 in World Cup qualifying Wednesday night.
The victory was the fifth straight by the Americans, and virtually assures them of making next year's six-team regional finals. The United States is atop Group One in the semifinals of the North and Central American and the Caribbean with nine points, five ahead of T&T.
"It's ideal, right?" Landon Donovan said. "We were excellent tonight." The first half was one of the most dominating performances I've ever been a part of. We were good all over the field."
The victory was hardly a surprise. The Americans are 25-1-7 in home qualifiers since May 1985, their only defeat a 3-2 loss to Honduras in September 2001, and have outscored opponents 21-0 on U.S. soil since 2004. They're also 9-0-2 in World Cup qualifying against T&T.
