Utah is ranked No. 6 on the BCS list and is in position for a guaranteed berth in a BCS game when the pairings are announced next week.
Western Athletic Conference champion Boise State completed a perfect regular season with a rout over Fresno State, but stayed at No. 9 in the BCS standings.
As long as the Utes are ranked higher, all the Broncos can hope for is an at-large invitation back to the BCS.
