The USVC men's basketball team hosts High Point today at 7 p.m. in the McKay Center.

The game can be heard live on 1400 KSTAR.

Prior to the men's game, the Wolverine women's basketball team play Gonzaga at 4:30 p.m.

This is the second meeting between the UVSC men and High Point. Last year High Point handed the Wolverines a 75-51 loss.

UVSC (6-7) is coming off a 69-62 loss at Weber State on Wednesday. David Heck scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Wolverines.

Ben Devoe leads UVSC in scoring and rebounding. The senior center is averaging 12.5 points and 6.1 rebounds a game. Matt Peterson is scoring 11.9 points and Heck is third on the team in scoring at 10.8 points a game.

High Point (6-3) is coming off an 80-44 loss at Utah on Wednesday. The Panthers are led by Arizona Reed's 20.9 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. Akeem Scott is second on the team in scoring at 14.1 points while Issa Konare is scoring 11.2 points.

"High Point is going to present us with a challenge to match their athleticism and court speed," UVSC coach Dick Hunsaker said.

Following today's game, UVSC hits the road for a game at North Dakota State on Jan. 5 and South Dakota State on Jan. 7.

The Wolverine women are coming off their third win of the season, a 79-75 victory over Portland in Orem. Sandy Marvin's career-high 20 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 40 seconds left in the game, was key to the victory.

Robyn Fairbanks added 24 for the Wolverines (3-8) in the victory over Portland.

UVSC lost to Gonzaga 87-41 in Spokane, Wash., on Nov. 20, 2004, in the only other meeting between the two teams.
