Each week during the football season, the Daily Herald will report on high school and junior college players who have made oral commitments to BYU or are being recruited by the Cougars.
• An unlikely touchdown: BYU prospect Brad Wilcox (6-7 240 OL) of North Edmond (Okla.) found himself in the end zone two weeks ago against Eisenhower.
Wilcox was on the receiving end of a tipped pass and rumbled in for a six-yard touchdown in the third quarter, giving North a 31-3 lead. North won the game 31-10.
"It's a big boy's dream. I don't know how many times I've thought about that and it finally happened," Wilcox told the Edmond Sun.
North won its second straight game last Friday, whipping Norman 31-10.
• That's a record: Timpview beat Tooele 40-7 on Friday, the program's state record 29th consecutive victory. The T'Birds, with 2009 BYU commits Craig Bills and Tui Chrichton and 2010 commit Bronson Kaufusi -- along with Cougar prospects Xavier Su'afilo (2009) and Chris Badger (2010) -- are the favorite to win their third straight 4A state title.
