BYU had a much better performance this week than last, and drilled Air Force pretty good. With Harvey Unga churning out good gains on the ground the Cougars were able to get anything they wanted in the pass game. Defensively, BYU slowed down the Falcons and caused four turnovers. An all-a…

BYU has this one under control. But someone has to explain to me what the referee meant by saying Max Hall was trying to "deceive" the Air Force defense on Harvey Unga's touchdown that was called back. Um, I think deception is the idea, isn't it? BYU ran the exact same play last year agai…

Wow, that was a busy second quarter. AFA came into the game +18 in turnover margin, but the Falcons have three in the first half. BYU has taken advantage and the passing game has been very good: Almost 200 yards passing against a team that was giving up about 123 a game. Dennis Pitta is u…

I figured this one might be low scoring. BYU has really dominated play but only has three points to show for it. At one point in the first quarter the Cougars had 101 total yards and Air Force 10. Harvey Unga becomes BYU's all-time leading rusher on a four-yard carry in the first quarter,…

At the BYU news conference Monday morning, Cougar head coach Bronco Mendenhall said playing Air Force is one of his favorite games of the year.

A 17-7 BYU lead doesn't seem like much, does it?

Nothing like getting outplayed by an 0-9 team in the first quarter.

Arrived in Albuquerque on Friday. That evening got together with Dick Harmon and Jeff Call (Des News), Doug Martin, Ralph Sokolowsky and Mark Lyons (KSL radio) at Coaches Sports Grill to watch BYU-Bradley last night. My take? Michael Loyd Jr. saved the game by coming off the bench and hit…

BYU came out executing and has put Wyoming away pretty early. At one point, BYU had 358 total yards to Wyoming's 25. Max Hall is 16 of 17 for 265 yards and three touchdowns. BYU has been able to run the ball (Unga has 66 yards) and pretty much run its offense perfectly.

BYU has completely dominated the first half with 175 total yards to 0 for Wyoming. The Cougars are doing whatever they want.

Full disclosure: Because of budget cutbacks and previous travel arrangements, I am not in Laramie today. Jason Franchuk is at the game and I am filing from home. I will watch the game on TV like the rest of you today.

I found it interesting in the post-game that BYU players and coaches gave a ton of credit to TCU. That's not unusual, but it's one of the few times I think they meant it.

Gee, this looks familiar, doesn't it?

BYU managed to get a touchdown on the board to pull within two scores at halftime. The difference on that drive was that Max Hall actually started throwing to receivers. For most of the half, he looked like he didn't have anybody open. It looks like there's some openings out there.

Well, I think BYU fan's worst fears are being realized right now. TCU has dominated play in the first quarter and the Cougars look like they don't belong on the same field.

Thanks to everyone who came out the tailgate party at the Herald. It was a little bit wet but we had a good time and somebody walked away with BYU football tickets.
