The top 6A team in Utah Valley has put together some solid performances to get to 12-1.
Last week against Maple Mountain, Casey Brown had the biggest impact as he finished with 17 points (including four 3-pointers) as well as four rebounds, four assists and five steals in the 66-35 win.
On the season, Brown is averaging 11. 8 points per game, three rebounds per game, two steals per game and has made 14 3-pointers. Having a guard of his caliber keeps opponents from focusing too much on the Viking inside game.
Although it wasn't quite enough for the Dons to get the upset win at Salem Hills, Taylor Stewart had a tremendous game.
Playing against one of the top teams in the state and with Spanish Fork missing a couple of starters for part of the contest, Stewart rose to the challenge. She scored 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and gave the Dons a shot to win in the 55-52 defeat to the Skyhawks.
Stewart just keeps improving as she is now averaging 11.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. The junior will be a key piece for Spanish Fork in Region 10 action.
