Inside, outside -- the Orem girls volleyball team put together a complete hitting game from all over the court against Region 7 opponent Timpview on Thursday, easily sweeping the T'Birds, 25-15, 25-12, 25-17 in Provo.

Though outside hitter Hannah Robison had her usual solid night with eight kills, it was the inside play of Keisha Galaei and Kaysie Taylor that pleased Tiger head coach Natalie Real.

"Tonight the girls finally clicked," Real said. "It was great for the team to build chemistry and work through a lot of the hiccups."

Galaei led the Tigers through Game 2, earning half her kill total in that game alone. Orem quickly scored the first six points of the game, then went on a 9-1 run. After kills by Jentry Hatch and Danielle Adams for Orem (12-7, 7-3), Robison smacked home an ace for a 16-5 lead. Galaei smacked three kills, including one right in the face of a T'Bird player, as Orem cruise to the 2-0 margin.

"Keisha is a serious fireball," Real said. "She is a commanding presence as a blocker; I swear her arms grow more every game. She has really come into her own."

"I was thinking, 'Get the ball down,' " said Galaei, who finished with seven kills and four aces. "We're going to state soon so it's good that our passing is improving."

The outcome was slightly better for the T'Birds the final game, despite Timpview coach Kristen Bailey's decision to sit her starters for the entirety of Game 3.

"We're still getting better," Bailey said of the T'Birds, who dropped to 1-14 overall, 0-9 in region play. "We are better than last season."

Timpview played Orem close for a while in the third game, but the Tigers opened up a small 8-7 lead into a more comfortable 14-7. Orem's Chalise Herman put down a kill while Taylor hit a spot in the open court. Herman also finished with seven kills to go with four aces of her own.

"We've been depending on our outside hitting all season," Real said. "But we're much stronger when we can also attack from the middles. It broadens our offense."

Orem is poised to head into the 4A state finals, but the Tigers' seeding is still very much up in the air. Lehi currently leads Orem by just a half game for second place in the region, while Mountain View is up on the Tigers by a game and a half.
