Utah company develops product with top U.S. accounting firm
Lehi-based accounting automation technology firm Avii partnered with nationally ranked accounting and advisory firm WithumSmith+Brown, PC to create the Withum Experience Powered by Avii, a next-generation employee workspace and client portal, according to a press release.
For the past two years, Withum’s “Innovation Council” has worked to discover, test and deploy automation technologies like Avii to accounting professionals. Avii interconnects preferred software-as-a-solution and internal software systems within a single workspace to create a workflow solution. Avii Workspace allows for secure document exchange, task management, unified dashboards, data-driven business intelligence analysis and communications to foster internal business and client success.
Withum client Francis Zaragoza, accounting supervisor at SAG-AFTRA, said the Withum Experience helps to track productivity and other metrics during tax season, arguably the busiest season for accountants.
“The application provides visibility into simple metrics that can be used to measure performance while also ensuring your team is on track,” Zaragoza said. “The trajectory of the platform is also well organized in a manner that is easy to navigate and it highlights the critical areas that need attention, which is extremely helpful in having a successful audit.”
Patrick Walsh, CPA, MBA, Tax Partner with Withum who has been overseeing the deployment of the Withum Experience, said clients can expect a higher level of service as a result of expanding software solutions like the Withum Experience.
“Together, Withum and Avii have established higher standards in change management and workflow effectiveness, resulting in better accounting outputs and higher satisfaction for clients,” Avii CEO Lyle Ball said.
Walmart adds electric vehicle charging station in Spanish Fork
In collaboration with Electrify America, Walmart announced Tuesday the addition of a new electric vehicle charging station at the Walmart Supercenter at 1206 Canyon Creek Parkway in Spanish Fork.
Electrify America chargers at Walmart stores are available for public use 24 hours a day and feature 150 kilowatt and 350kW DC fast chargers, which according to a press release are currently the most powerful electric vehicle chargers available. The press release states these chargers can charge “capable” vehicles at speeds of up to 20 miles of range per minutes. Charging stations offer CCS connectors and CHAdeMO chargers.
Currently, over 130 Walmart stores offer Electrify America charging options and additional stations are expected to be installed across the U.S. Besides Spanish Fork, there is also a charging station at the Walmart located at 1905 S. 300 West in Salt Lake City.
“Along with providing our customers with an enhanced shopping experience through added convenience, this initiative also allows us to contribute to the expansion and accessibility of our nation’s EV charging station infrastructure,” Mark Vanderhelm, vice president of energy for Walmart Inc. said. “Many of our Walmart associates and customers are EV drivers so providing access to these stations is the right thing to do for our customers, our business and the environment.”
Walmart has a goal to be powered with 100% renewable energy, and plans to power 50% of its operations with renewable energy by 2025.
