There seems to be a holiday for nearly every food and meal out there (looking at you, National Semisweet Chocolate with Almonds Day). While some don’t need much celebrating, some do, like nachos.
Nachos are one of the most versatile yet simplistic Tex-Mex dishes out there. All you really need is a bag of chips and some cheese.
But if you really want to take your nacho game up a notch, check out some of these restaurants where premium nachos is their specialty, and celebrate the International Day of the Nacho the right way.
Bam Bam’s BBQ
Yes, you read it right — this BBQ joint in south Orem serves some of the best Swachos in town. And nope, that is not a typo. Bam Bam’s BBQ’s Swachos are fantastic. A mound of smoky BBQ meat and beans sits atop a bed of crisp nachos, combining for one of the perfect combinations. Add some of their legendary BBQ sauces, and that makes a Grade A meal.
Location: 1708 S. State St., Orem
Imagine the massive portions that go into a salad or burrito at Costa Vida, and now place that on a bed of tortilla chips. The word “loaded” doesn’t quite describe just how generous of a portion of meat sits on Costa Vida’s nacho platter.
When ordering, be certain to order queso sauce, not just queso. Otherwise, you’ll have more cheese than you can imagine and none of the delicious queso sauce, which really makes this a spectacular meal.

Café Rio’s entry into this list is basically obligatory, because for every Costa Vida lover, there’s also a Café Rio lover. And let’s face it, at the restaurants’ cores, they’re basically the same.
Café Rio’s nachos are fairly similar to Costa Vida’s, which honestly is a good thing. A pile of nachos is topped with another pile of meat, your typical fare of toppings, and then a dollop of sour cream and guacamole. Prepare for a food coma.
Locations: 821 W. State St., American Fork; 147 N. State St., Orem; 2250 N. University Parkway, Provo; 1513 N. Redwood Rd., Saratoga Springs (closes at 9 p.m. on Sundays); 782 N. 800 East, Spanish Fork
Sure, Milagros calls these “Hall of Fame Nachos” a starter, but this dish is far from a start, unless you call it a start of a full evening.
The Nachos Milagros look like a typical plate of nachos, but many Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews deem these as the best nachos ever. Top it off with a serving of beef to make them even better.
Location: 970 W. 800 North, Orem
Both the Orem and particularly the Provo locations look just a little sketchy on the outside. But if that scares you away, you’ll never experience the myriad of fantastic Mexican food that awaits you, not to mention Super Nachos.
Rancherito’s Super Nachos aptly fit the name, with a heavy serving of chips, cheese, meat and more. The best time to eat here is after dark and share this with a friend for a late-night snack.
Locations: 1230 N. State St., Provo; 66 W. Center St., Orem
Just like Café Rio and Costa Vida, Beto’s is on this list because it’s near identical to Rancherito’s. Most Yelp reviews say the Saratoga Springs location is best.
The two restaurants are so similar, in fact, that Beto’s also serves a plate dubbed “Super Nachos.” But which nachos are the best? That’s for you to decide.

Casa Salza in Spanish Fork is less known for their nachos, and more known for their unbelievably delectable salsa.
And in reality, aren’t nachos just a vehicle for salsa?
Location: 132 W 900 North, Spanish Fork
This hole-in-the-wall in Springville is similar to Casa Salza, in that the sauces are the soul of the restaurant.
But their nachos are still a mountain of mouth-wateringly delicious food, not to mention some of the best chips you'll ever taste.
Location: 333 N. Main St., Springville
Los Hermanos bounced back after their location burned down in downtown Provo on Feb. 11, opening a new location connected to the University Mall. Good thing, too, or else how could we enjoy their delectable nachos?
Visitors to the restaurant can choose between an appetizer plate of nachos, which comes with melted cheese, enchilada sauce, sour cream and guacamole with an option of adding on meat; or the Nacho Supreme specialty entre, which comes with "huge portions of beans, cheese, enchilada sauce, sour cream and guacamole," with an option of adding on meat or jalapenos, as described by their menu.
Patrons of Culichi can indulge in a half-sized or full-sized order of nachos. The dish comes piled high with delicious refried beans, cheese, pico, sour cream, and your choice of meat, and you can add additional toppings and sauces at the self-serve salsa bar.

Location: 1680 S. State St., Orem
Everything at Doc Brundy's is made from scratch. Their menu highlights house signature items, and their Pulled Pork Nachos is one of them — for good reason. This dish comes pile-high with BBQ glaze pork, chipotle creme, pico de gallo, cheese sauce and fresh cilantro.
Location: 260 N. Main St., Spanish Fork
