Avocados can be pretty versatile. They go great on a sandwich or wrap, you can use them for spicy guacamole, get them in a salad or just eat them plain. 

But in recent years, a popular use of the delicious fruit — yes, it is a fruit — is for avocado toast. 

Whether it's as simple as toast topped with avocado and seasonings, or more elaborate with a variety of toppings like eggs, salmon, mushrooms or bacon, the dish is a great way to celebrate National Avocado Day Wednesday.
