One thing is for sure, Utah County has no shortage of pizza places, which is a great thing since Sunday is National Pizza Day.
Pizza can be a unifying meal -- it feeds large groups of people and, let's be honest, most people love it. But in Utah County, you can find a wide variety of pizzas, from the upscale and gourmet to inexpensive and traditional.
So, which pizza place is best? We will let you decide.
Two Jacks Pizza
Two Jacks is one of the highest-rated pizza restaurants in the valley, and if you love tons of toppings, you should try the Two Jacks Combo, which comes with Italian sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, pineapple, Jack’s secret sauce and mozzarella cheese blend.

Nico’s Pizza, also known as Nicolitalia Pizzeria, is located on Cougar Boulevard and boasts Boston-style pizza, which, according to them, means the pizzas are baked flat on a stone in a high-temperature oven, that the pizzas have thin, crisp crusts, that the pizzas are made with a simple tomato sauce and that cheese goes underneath the toppings.

Most of the ingredients at Pizzeria 712 are from local farmers, from their tomatoes to the wheat in the dough. That means you never know what you’ll have next. Check out the Hot Pink pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, house-made ricotta, parmesan reggianito and chili flakes.

Firebird Pizza and Pasta
Firebird Pizza and Pasta serves several specialty pizzas, including a BBQ chicken with light pizza sauce, BBQ sauce, chicken, red onions, bacon mozzarella and cheddar, topped with fresh cilantro and BBQ sauce. According to managers, it is one of the most popular menu items at the restaurant.

MidiCi Neapolitan Pizza
MidiCi serves Classic Neapolitan pizzas as well as specialty pizzas, and they have several unique pizzas include the Bianca, which has fresh mozzarella, parmesan, basil, oregano, garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

MOZZ, an artisan pizza casual dining spot, proudly boasts a list of 20 local vendors they partner with.
Along with high-quality ingredients, the restaurant features high-quality decor. Whimsical decorations, chic furnishings and exposed brick all contribute to an overall trendy, pleasant atmosphere that fits right in with downtown Provo’s vibe.

SLAB pizzas are essentially one-quarter of a 20-inch pizza, and they come in traditional or unique flavors. The Thai Chicken pizza, for instance, has peanut sauce, chicken, green onion, roasted red pepper and cilantro, or you can try the BBQ Chicken pizza too.

If you love New York-style pizza, try Lucy’s New York Style Pizzeria, and check out the CCB, with the creaminess of ranch, the savory goodness of chicken and the magical crunch of bacon all piled onto one pizza.

Main Street Pizza
At Main Street Pizza in Springville, Salem and Santaquin, you can pick up traditional pizzas or one of their 16 specialty pizzas. One interesting specialty pizza is the chicken parmesan, with breaded parmesan chicken, tomatoes and basil.

Fat Jack’s Pizza
If you are headed to the southern end of Utah County, you can hit up Fat Jack’s Pizza, a local favorite among other pizza chains. Don't pass up the cheese sticks — diners always rave about them.

Head to Eagle Mountain to taste Village Pizza’s creations. They serve create-your-own pizzas with regular or specialty toppings — anything from pepperoni and Canadian bacon to Philly steak or pulled BBQ pork.

If you are the adventuresome type of diner, one who is perfectly willing to expand your previous horizons of what ingredient combinations work on a pizza, then visiting Pizzeria Limone should definitely be on your agenda. The restaurant's lofty goal to produce "the best Neapolitan style pizza on the planet" is proudly stated right on its website. One of their most popular pizzas is their Margherita Napoli with marinara, mozzarella, basil, olive oil and parmigiano reggiano.

Fiore Wood Fired Pizza
Fiore has some delicious personal pizzas (sweet corn and bacon or rosemary potato, anyone?) made in a pretty epic-looking food truck. This week’s special is Pistachio Pizza.
Summit Inn Pizza
Originally opening in Kamas, Summit Inn Pizza expanded to Lehi and promotes that its pizzas are made through “old time” methods, like fresh-made dough and locally sourced ingredients. Check out the Dan’s Request pizza, with oversized portions of Italian sausage, green peppers, red onions and pepperoni.

The Brick Oven in Provo has been serving pizza and pasta dishes for more than 60 years, and is an icon of eating in Provo. Some of the favorite pizzas are the Western Steak (seasoned steak with BBQ sauce, bell peppers, breaded onion straws, bleu cheese crumbles and cilantro), the Napoli (double pepperoni and extra cheese), or the traditional Hawaiian (ham, pineapple and extra cheese).

If you are looking for something a little lighter, Blaze Pizza does have a veggie option, the Veg Out, with roasted seasonal veggies, mushrooms, red onion, mozzarella, gorgonzola and red sauce dollops.

Pier 49 Pizza
Pier 49’s pizzas will take you on a trip to San Francisco, from its sourdough crust to the fun San Fran-inspired names. One pizza you should try is the Lombard Street, which is a BBQ chicken-flavored pizza.

At Pizza Studio, you can have your pizza your way. Patrons pass through a line, placing their order at the front desk and then working their way along the assembly line, as it were, to pick and choose among the sauces and toppings. You can pick everything from your crust to sauce, cheese, veggies, meats and finishings. Our suggestion? Try the buffalo chicken on a firecracker crust.

The slogan at Malawi’s is “Pizza with a Purpose.” For every meal purchased they donate a nutritious meal to a child in Malawi, Africa. If you haven’t tried their dessert pizzas, you might want to give them a shot. They have an Oreo Cookie Crumble pizza, Berries and Cream pizza, a Peaches and Cream pizza, a Reese’s Peanut Butter S’more pizza and a Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake pizza.
Malawi's Pizza closed for renovation in Sept. 2019 and is scheduled to re-open this month.

For more traditional pizzas, try one of Marco’s Pizzas, including the Deluxe with classic pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, Marco’s original sauce and a three-cheese blend.

Pieology is best described as a make-your-own pizza place. Pizza is created on a glass window-lined bar decked out with an impressive array of ingredients, though it starts simply enough with the same basic crusts. If creativity isn’t your forte, you can get one of their chef-inspired concoctions, like the Zesty Artichoke, with roasted red peppers, marinated artichokes, red onion, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic herb butter blend and fresh basil garnish.

The Pizza Factory
While the Pizza Factory is well-known for its twisted Breadtwists, unsurprisingly they also have a wide variety of pizzas. Their pizzas are create-your-own style, with options of different crusts, different sauces, meat toppings, seafood toppings, veggie toppings and gourmet toppings. They have everything from pastrami and pepperoni to shrimp and diced artichokes.

Hungry Howie’s Pizza
Hungry Howie’s is more than just your run-of-the-mill pizzeria. The North Orem pizza shop is known for its myriad of flavored crusts, including ranch, Cajun, garlic herb and asiago cheese.

Modification is the name of the game at MOD Pizza, serving a simple salad and pizza menu — including a gluten-free crust option — meant to be personalized with a wide array of more than 30 toppings ranging from classics like pepperoni and black olives to novelties like roasted asparagus and Mama Lil’s peppers. And the best part is customers can add any and all toppings they want for no additional charge.

Pizza Pie Cafe
If quantity is important to you, head to the Pizza Pie Cafe for an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. They serve a variety of flavors, including traditional pepperoni and cheese and less traditional Spud-o-licious. The February pizza flavor of the month is Sugar Cookie Sprinkles Pizza.

Tenney’s is an awesome spot to grab an inexpensive, little pizza packed with quality. Most, if not all, locations have daily specials to keep a little variety in your cheap pizza run. The medium pizzas feed two easily.

Zub’s Pizza and Subs
Zubs has great subs, but they also serve quite a few different pizzas, including a Fiesta Pizza, with salsa, olives, onions, spicy ground beef, mozzarella, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, avocado and sour cream.

California Pizza Kitchen
California Pizza Kitchen isn’t unique to Utah County, but they do serve unique pizza combinations. Try their Carne Asada Pizza with marinated steak, fire-roasted poblanos, cilantro pesto, yellow onions, mozzarella, monterey jack and fresh cilantro.

5 Buck Pizza
For pizza at a great price, head to 5 Buck Pizza. They even serve gourmet pizzas like Chicken Alfredo and BBQ Chicken.

Slice-A-Pizza has a nostalgic name to long-time Utah County restaurants. The restaurant was once located on University Avenue in Provo, at the University Mall, in Spanish Fork and Mapleton, and now they are operating from a mobile food truck.
