It’s not uncommon to throw birthday parties for your closest family and friends, but for a fictional character? Many Utahns didn’t think twice. When July 31 rolled in 2015, marking Harry Potter’s 35th birthday, fans of the fictional series came out in swarms to wish him well with community events at libraries, universities and local shopping centers. Many series fans even donned their robes for the 3rd annual Potter 5K, Walk, Fly! event in West Jordan, because what better way to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday than with a race?
