Jeanne Goodrich Richman was born of goodly parents, Gardner and Jennie, on Sept. 16, 1925. She peacefully returned home on Friday, Jun. 28, 2019. She was the 4th of 5 children.
Growing up on a farm, she learned the value of hard work. Everyone had to work together for the family to survive. She had only 1 brother, so the girls had many chores.
Education was important to Jeanne. She received a scholarship to attend BYU, and she loved to read. She crocheted table cloths, dollies, and she even made baby blankets for everyone in her family.
Music was the family’s favorite entertainment. Jeanne fell in love with her band teacher, Alma, who was only 2 years older. Alma served in the Navy in World War II. They spent time together when he was home on leave and wrote letters learning more about each other. They were married May 22, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Jeanne served faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, mainly in Primary. She loved her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. She knew that families are forever, and she looked forward to being with her husband, parents, and other family members again.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Helen (Brad) Prescott, Gregory, Kevin (Mylene), and Teri (Gary) Mortensen; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Duane) Young; in-laws, Dorothy Richman; Ed (Juanita) Richman, Melba (Jay) Turner, and Sandy (LaJean) Richman, and also many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Weston Richman, and brother-in-law, Weldon Richman.
Sincere thanks to Ryan and his staff at the Treeo, and Annie and her staff at Covington Village for the kind and tender care given to mom.
