Rachel Utahna Ozuna

This Memorial weekend, we lost our beloved Rachel Utahna Ozuna. The very best Mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece and friend, Rachel’s physical presence will be deeply missed and daily mourned.

Ever the thorn in a side, Rachel was born very quickly at home in Provo, Utah to Sue Anne Russell and Richard Ozuna August 11, 1985. She spent her childhood running wild in Provo and most of her teenage years in Mapleton, Utah, where many of her friends and family still live. Graduating from Springville High School going on to Provo College, Rachel earned her dental assisting certificate and worked in dental offices in the area, enjoyed raising puppies and had a knack for making and raising the most beautiful children. Rachel loved staying fit, becoming a regular at the gym and taking every opportunity to get outside and share adventure with anyone that was down to go. Rachel loved everyone and everyone loved Rachel. She was everyone’s best friend. She had the same effect on animals, loving, rescuing and bringing home every variety under the barn roof from the time she started walking.

Rachel was the most vibrant thing in the room. Smiling that beautiful smile, Rachel pollinated everyone’s life with a genuine love and interest and an infectious way of being the most delightful being. She lit up any room she entered and could change the mood of any situation. Her smile and adorable giggle were are trademark! Everyone felt they were the most important person Rachel knew, it was that beautiful magnetic draw she had. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, ready laugh, and love for everything and everyone. We miss her deeply and we should all take time to reflect and be grateful for every minute we had with Rachel and for the example of true, unconditional love she shared with all of us.
