Roy Leon Arnold of Lake Shore, Utah passed away at 83 and was reunited with his eternal sweetheart on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Roy was born September 6, 1935, in Ballard, Utah to Manfred Martin and Verna Mae Blanchard Arnold. He grew up in Gusher, Utah and moved to Utah County where he became a certified mechanic. Roy was passionate about working on cars. He owned his own business, Surefire Automotive, as well as worked for Barber Brothers Automotive, supervised at Hercules, and the Del Monte Factory.
He married the love of his life, Evadna Howes on May 14, 1955, in South Jordan Utah. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on their anniversary in 1963. They are the parents of four incredible children and loved their quality time together.
“I love the simple things of life; my garden, and sitting outside with my wife on a summer evening sipping a Coke. Evadna has always made coming home from work a real joy. She was there watching for me, supper was cooking and I could feel her love as I entered the door.”
Roy never missed a season hunting pheasants. He took his family camping, taught his children to hunt and fish, and spent a lot of his time outdoors. You never saw Roy without his sweetheart by his side and a Coke in his hand.
Roy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings including the Bishopric for 8 years. He was always quick to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Roy is survived by his children Laurel (Ben) Deaver, LeRoy (Tracy) Arnold, Debra (Lyle) Groves, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, and his younger brother Arthur Arnold. He will be greatly missed by every person that knew him.
