Vesta LaRene Davis Turner

Our dear Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away June 10, 2019. Vesta was born to Eynon Earl Davis and Twila Belle Wray Davis on December 4, 1932. She spoke often of her happy childhood in Jerome, Idaho working and playing on the family farm with many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Vesta attended BYU one year before she served as a missionary in the West Central States Mission. Upon her return to her parent’s home, now living in Butte, MT, she met the man she would marry and experienced the tremendous loss of her mother who she would dearly miss the remainder of her life. She is survived by her husband, Bill, William Dale Turner, Jr. They were looking forward to celebrating the 65th anniversary of their marriage in the Logan, UT Temple this October. Her beloved daughter, Lori and her husband, Lonny Townsend, Son-in-Law, Kelvin Bailey, her grandchildren, Justin, Jenny, Melissa, Adrianne, Patrick, Geoffrey, Eric, Rachael, Janelle, and Emily also survive her. Vesta was grateful to have lived long enough to know and enjoy her twenty-one great grandchildren.

Vesta was an avid reader and loved learning about and discussing a wide range of subjects. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Oregon. Teaching was a lifelong passion for Vesta whether in church, with her family, or as director of the Rocking Horse Day Care Center. Vesta served in many callings in the church. She especially loved being Relief Society President and teaching early morning Seminary. Vesta loved her family past and present. She loved searching for her ancestors and making sure their temple work was done. Vesta joins those ancestors, especially her beloved daughter, Michele, grandson, Ryan, and her dear parents and grandparents. Her family here is comforted knowing of those joyous reunions.
