High School boys 4A and 5A golf championships come to Midway 12

3. Lone Peak won its fourth straight 5A golf title on Tuesday by setting state records for the lowest single-day team score. Can the Knights continue their dynasty?

WARNER: I don’t see an end to Lone Peak’s domination. The Knights will miss the contributions of seniors Tyler Jones, Jaxon Long and Elijah Turner but they return three players, who finished in the top 10. Max Brenchley (3rd), Josh Rooker (5th) and Zach Jones (10th), will all be back along with an incredible group of younger players that should keep Lone Peak at the top.

LLOYD: The Knights owe a lot of their success to the impressive junior golf program at Alpine Country Club. That golf club has invested in their young golfers — boys and girls — and since many of them go to Lone Peak, that high school is reaping the dividends. Unless other clubs and junior programs can match what is going on at Alpine CC, I expect the Knights to continue to be the team to beat for years to come.
