PROVO — Police officers arrested a man early Wednesday morning on suspicion of charges related to raping a teenage girl about three years ago.

Police reports state the female victim told her mother the suspect, Agenor Vasquez, had raped her nearly three years earlier. Her mother brought her into the Children’s Justice Center, where the victim said that when she was just 11, Vasquez, 45, raped her.

Reports state the victim told officers Vasquez had sex with her one morning when the victim’s family was gone. Vasquez went into the living room where the victim was taking a nap. The victim told officers Vasquez started rubbing her leg before he started having sex with her, arrest documents state.

Vasquez was wearing a condom, the victim told officers, though she bled from the incident.

The victim was afraid of disclosing the incident to her family because she was concerned about how they would react, police reports state.

When Vasquez was brought to the police department, he denied ever having an inappropriate relationship with the victim. He said he would massage her legs when she went through growing pains, but it never escalated beyond that, police reports state.

Vasquez was booked into the Utah County Jail for suspicion of one first-degree felony charge of rape of a child.

Criminal history checks reveal Vasquez was arrested in 2012 for disorderly conduct.
