UTAH LAKE

Utah Lake Scavenger Hunt 2022 — The Utah Lake Commission is bringing back the Utah Lake Scavenger Hunt from June 3-12. Registered participants will use the GooseChase app to answer trivia questions, view educational videos, visit the lake and take part in at-home challenges. The grand prize will be a pair of inflatable paddle boards with life jackets — and there will be three sets of grand prizes. There will also be daily prizes. The event cost is $10 per team (up to 10 participants) and it doesn’t include any entrance or minimal rental fees that participants may encounter through the course of the hunt. AMERICAN FORK

Events at the American Fork Library — Here are some upcoming events at the American Fork Library: May 23: Children’s Activity Room Open House. Throughout the day there will be activities, treats and crafts in the new activity room. May 24: Healthy Minds for children at 4 p.m. Join Miss American Fork, Aubrey Moedl, for a fun storytime with stories, songs and crafts focusing on mental health.  May 24: Latino Ambassadors at 6:15 p.m. ¡Participe en la Biblioteca de American Fork en el programa de Embajadores Latinos! May 26: Youth Mental Health First Aid for adults from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This class for adults will teach how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance abuse challenges among teens. CEDAR HILLS

Family Festival tickets on sale — Tickets are on sale now for the Cedar Hills Family Festival. A $20 ticket package includes family swim, dinner & movie, and a two-day unlimited pass to the Outdoor Adventure Zone (package doesn’t include the Creekside Theater Performance). Tickets to individual events and the adventure zone are also available. Advance tickets will be mailed or held at each event’s Will Call window. Cedar Hills Pickleball Tournament — Registration is open now through June 5 for the Cedar Hills Pickleball Tournament taking place from June 8-11 at Harvey Park. There will be brackets for men, women, juniors and mixed doubles for levels 3.0 to 5.0. The per-event cost is $30 per team and $10 for singles. Summer Lego Camps — Cedar Hills Recreation will be offering three sets of two Lego camps for children ages 5 to 14 in June, July and August. From June 6 to 10, there will be a SuperStructures camp for ages 7 to 12 from 9 a.m. to noon and a Minecraft-themed camp for ages 5 to 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. From July 11 to 15, there will be a Jedi Robotics camp for ages 7 to 14 from 9 a.m. to noon and a Mega Machines Robotics class. Kids Sports Camps — Registration is open for weekly sports camps for children ages 5-12 taking place in June and July at Mesquite Park. Bowling lessons — Cedar Hills Recreation and Jack & Jill Lanes will offer bowling lessons for children from kindergarten to 12th grade on Mondays in July and August. Tee Ball and Coach-Pitch — Tee ball is available for children, ages 4 to 5, and coach-pitch for children, ages 6 to 7. Games are played twice weekly from June to early July. Every child bats every inning and plays in the field. A T-shirt and hat are included in the registration fee and nonresidents are welcome at no additional cost. Vinyasa Yoga (mixed level) — Join Kristen Rutter at 9 a.m. every Wednesday at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center for a dynamic practice that unites body, mind and breath. Bring your own mat, strap and block (a limited number is available to borrow).

HIGH Fitness classes — This weekly class takes aerobics to the next level by combining modern fitness techniques, such as HIIT, plyometics, and intervals of strength and cardio with music. Classes are currently at 6 a.m. Mondays at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center. The drop-in rate is $5 and punch cards can be purchased at a discount. Social distancing will be in effect. Get HIGH with Dax — HIGH fitness classes will be offered twice weekly at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center — at 6 a.m. on Thursdays and a kids class for ages 6 to 16 at 4:15 p.m. on Fridays. The drop-in rate for the Thursday class is $3.50 while the Friday class is free. Social distancing will be in effect.

LINDON

Senior bus — The Lindon Senior Center has a bus and is able to offer rides to and from the center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is available for Lindon resident seniors. Pick-ups are between 10 and 11 a.m. Drop-offs are between 1 and 2 p.m. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Contact the Senior Center front desk at (801) 769-8625.

PAYSON

Volunteer at the library — Friends of the Payson Library notes that residents can volunteer for an hour or less each month to help the library meet the needs of children and patrons. Volunteers are asked to offer ideas and support the group’s yearly book sale. Mental health support groups — NAMI Utah offers free online support groups and classes for adults living with mental health conditions and for family members of loved ones living with mental health conditions. SARATOGA SPRINGS

Community Orchestra — The Saratoga Springs Community Orchestra holds practices on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the city offices, 1307 N. Commerce Drive. The orchestra will be preparing for Saratoga Splash Days and the December holiday concerts.

UTAH COUNTY

Volunteers to help Kids On The Move — Each Friday and Saturday, Kids On The Move offers Respite Care, providing a free break to parents with special needs children. Families drop their children off at locations in Orem, Lehi and Springville where they are paired one-on-one with a volunteer to play for the evening. A nurse or behavior technician is also present to help oversee. The group is seeking 10 volunteers 16 years and older from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday to help make this happen. Foster grandparents sought — Utah County is seeking senior volunteers to serve as foster grandparents. Volunteers must be limited-income individuals at least 55 years old and able to serve 15 or more hours per week. Volunteers serve as mentors, tutors and caregivers for children and youth at schools, hospitals, youth centers and similar organizations. Volunteers receive a non-taxable stipend, paid personal leave, transportation reimbursement, ongoing training and more. Utah County Home Visit Programs in need of donations — Utah County Health Department home visit programs are running low on donated resources such as baby blankets and diapers. The health department is asking Utah County community members to consider donating items or organizing service projects to assist in providing donations. The items most needed are new receiving blankets or small quilts and diapers. Other welcomed items include: infant “onesies,” knit hats and infant-appropriate board books. Items should be in new condition. Donations may be dropped off Monday to Friday (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at the following health department locations: Provo — 151 S. University Ave., Suite 1610, American Fork — 599 S. 500 East. Questions about the home visit programs should be directed to Bonnie Hardy at (801) 851-7026.
