Two dead after head-on collision in Provo Thursday
Two people are dead after a head-on collision in west Provo Thursday afternoon.
“Just after 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, officers responded to a head-on collision in the 600 Block of West Lakeview Parkway. One of the vehicles caught fire with a citizen quickly responding to extinguish it,” said Sgt. Nick Dupaix.
Numerous individuals trapped in their vehicles were assisted by Provo Fire & Rescue, according to the report.
“We are sad to report one individual from each of the involved vehicles has died as a result of injuries sustained during the accident,” Sgt. Nick Dupaix. “The deceased victims are a 75-year-old male from one of the vehicles and a child five years of age from the other.”
A tan truck driven by a 31-year-old female pulled out of the driving lane and collided with a white truck driven by the male. The child was a passenger in the tan truck. The driver of the tan truck was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Provo’s Traffic Accident Team is currently investigating the incident.
