Life for Mary and her family has been difficult since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they need a little help to make the holidays brighter this year.

Mary’s mother passed away earlier this year, and all of her family’s savings were used to help family in Mexico pay for her funeral costs. This combined with the fact that only Mary’s husband works right now has left the couple with very little money to purchase Christmas presents for their three sons.

According to Mary, a little Christmas spirit could help to cheer up her family’s hearts and home.

Mary’s oldest son, 9, needs size 10 pants, a medium-sized jacket and size 3 socks. His favorite colors are red and blue, and he would enjoy LEGO toys, an Xbox, the new Xbox “Halo” game and the “Cat Kid Comic Club” book series.

Mary’s middle son, almost 5, needs size 6 pants, a medium-sized jacket and size 11 socks. He enjoys cars, soccer and “The Little Prince” book.

Mary’s youngest son, almost 4, needs size 5 pants, small-sized T-shirts and pens. He enjoys Transformers, “PAW Patrol” and the “No, David!” books.

According to Mary, she has learned that if one door closes another one opens, and that is what Sub for Santa has proven to her about her community. She said that everyone has been kind to her, from the Sub for Santa volunteers to the donors.

Mary said her sons are very excited to receive Christmas gifts and have Santa visit their home, especially after the challenges of the past year.
