“I’m OK with an increase in property taxes if we could get the interest rates down. But when they’re both (high) at the same time it gets a little overwhelming, I would say. I’m all for it. I know they will put it to good use.” — Jessica Ruddle, Orem
“It’s probably long overdue because things are going up. What we need to do is stop the inflation rate. But if we don’t stop the inflation rate, we got to have the taxes go up with it to keep where we are.” — Jay Johnson, Provo
“I don’t know if I personally have any feelings because I don’t have any property. To be honest, I kind of have a feeling the less government the better, kind of libertarian sentiments. As far as taxes in general, I don’t want them to go up. Especially with inflation going up and salaries will have to match, and at that point you’ll already be giving the government more money due to inflationary issues that have been caused mostly from the government, some from COVID. So overall, I’m probably more of a negative towards that.” — Joel Barker, Provo
“I don’t own, just yet, a house so I don’t have a lot to comment. But I know at some point someone has to pay for it. I guess it’s good. I have neutral thoughts about that. I’m not against or in favor. But it’s probably because I’m not an owner. But if I was, I would probably not be happy.” — Raul Hernandez, Provo
“It’s not the best. Everything else is like inflating in prices so the inflation in property taxes sucks also. But I think it’s offset too by our homes going up a little bit. So it makes me feel a little bit better, but it’s not the best situation.” — Lindsey Pili, Provo
