Thousands to graduate this week from Utah County high schools

Graduation season has returned with many Utah County students celebrating the end of their high school years. Combined, 25 schools have seniors moving on to their next adventure. The total number of graduates will most likely be released by the state Board of Education in the fall.

Provo City School District

The first area graduation was held Saturday as Timpview High School’s ceremony was held in the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo.

Provo High School’s graduation will take place at 6 p.m. — attendees are asked to be seated by 5:45 p.m. — on Wednesday at the UCCU Event Center on Utah Valley University’s campus in Orem. Independence High School’s graduation ceremony will be held at the school, beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Nebo School District

The first of Nebo School District’s seven graduations will be Landmark High School’s ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. The Nebo Online School graduation will be held at 2 p.m. in the Salem Hills High School auditorium.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the district’s five schools will all hold ceremonies at the UCCU Event Center. Tuesday will start with Payson High School’s graduates at 10 a.m., followed by Salem Hills High School at 2 p.m. and Spanish Fork High School at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday will be Springville High School’s graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. and Maple Mountain High School at 2 p.m.

Alpine School District

The largest in the county, Alpine School District has 14 specialty and traditional high school graduation ceremonies schedule throughout the week. The Dan Peterson School will host its ceremony on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in their school’s gymnasium while the Alpine Transition and Education Center (ATEC) graduation will be held in the American Fork High School auditorium at 4 p.m.

On Wednesday, Polaris High School students will graduate at 1 p.m. in the Mountain View High School Auditorium before Summit High School’s ceremony at 4 p.m.

Seven of the district’s 10 traditional high schools will hold their ceremonies on Thursday. At the UCCU Center will be Mountain View High School (8:30 a.m.), Lehi High School (noon), Timpanogos High School (3:30 p.m.) and Orem High School (7 p.m.).

The Marriott Center at Brigham Young University will host the ceremonies of Skyridge High School (9 a.m.), Pleasant Grove High School (12:30 p.m.) and Cedar Valley High School (4 p.m.).

The Marriott Center will host the graduations of Lone Peak High School (9 a.m.), Westlake High School (noon) and American Fork High School (3 p.m.) on Friday to conclude festivities for the week.
