Too many college kids - 3 stars
Review: "No idea why people rave about this hike. It’s very busy and the view is just as good as other hikes in the area. Nothing special except for the “Y”. There’s always college kids too so stay away if you don’t like em" — Johann Chan
Do it to say you did - 4 stars
Reviewer: "The best thing about Y mountain is it's view of Utah county (it's best viewed at night). The hike to the Y itself is ugly, steep, long, and winds back and forth so many times it will make your head spin—there are definitely prettier trails and hikes throughout Utah. This hike is one of those things that you 'have to do, just to say you did'."
Don't eat Chick-fil-A beforehand - 5 stars
Reviewer: "Y mountain is beautiful. However a word of caution- this hike is difficult. Do not eat chick fil a right before trying to hike in 100 degree weather. You will throw up and make a fool of yourself on the trial. Have fun!" — Averey Johns
Decent hike, but an eyesore - 4 stars
Reviewer: "Short hike with a decent view of the Valley (but about the same as you get from the parking lot.) The trail is well groomed and well marked. I personally think it is an eye sore across the entire valley but I can see the draw for some people." — Matt Bowen
We're not Olympians - 1 star
Reviewer: "The view is the same from the parking lot and the hike is atrocious, it is as if they think I am an Olympian or something of the sort. Make it less steep please."
Scare the parked couples - 4 stars
Reviewer: "Fun to drive by at night honking your horn and seeing how many couples guiltily jump from each other's embraces" - Max Adams
Best Fourth of July views - 5 stars
Reviewer: "The Hike to the Y is amazing and i love hiking on July 4th when the hot air balloons are up in the sky it's amazing. Go Cougs!" - Calvin Whaley
Rite of passage for BYU students - 5 stars
Reviewer: "Another BYU rite of passage is climbing the Y. Pretty vigorous, but a great view. Also great to just sit in the parking lot on a date" — Scott Carlson
Great view of the dirty air - 3 stars
Reviewer: "If you're looking for a good workout or you want to do all the things you're supposed to do while in Provo, Y Mountain is the place for you. As far as scenery goes, anything else is better unless you want a view of Utah valley (or on a bad day in the winter, a view of the airborne toxins that are slowly killing everyone)." — James Umphress
