Faulty equipment caused a power outage that left thousands of households without power in central Provo on Wednesday morning.

The power was restored around 11:30 a.m. to 2,400 homes west of 500 West and south of 1460 North. Those affected included Grand View South, Dixon and River Grove neighborhoods in Provo.

The outage lasted about an hour and crews are continuing to work on the faulty equipment, officials reported on social media.
