The summer road construction season isn’t ending anytime soon, according to a Thursday press release from the Utah Department of Transportation.
Starting Friday night, southbound Interstate 15 will be reduced to two lanes at the 8000 South and Benjamin interchange, Exit 253, for bridge repair. The closures will last until June 19. Two lanes will be closed on northbound I-15 from June 21 to June 26.
The west leg of 500 West and Center Street in Provo will be closed June 17 through June 24 for utility work, according to the release. Westbound drivers will be diverted north or south at Center Street, and another detour will lead from 100 North and 100 South via 600 West.
Another Center Street closure is expected for mid-summer and will last four to six weeks for concrete paving.
The construction on 500 West is expected to be finished in 2020.
