The hot sun blasted Vineyard on Saturday, giving the Vineyard Heritage Celebration the unmistakable carefree feeling of summer. Hundreds of families, mostly young couples with children, came out to enjoy the festivities: carnival rides, food trucks, a water park and a specialty market.

Vineyard Mayor Julie Fullmer was also in attendance and explained the celebration was marking Vineyard’s 30th year of incorporation. Fullmer added that a fireworks show was planned for Saturday evening.

“It will be the first approved firework show over the lake, with a no-fly zone for 30 minutes. It will be really beautiful.”
