Police arrested an 18-year-old Orem man Wednesday after the man reportedly sold and destroyed more than $11,000 in rented camera equipment.
Maxwell Flygare was arrested on suspicion of the third-degree felonies of tampering with a witness and theft by rental agreement. He was arrested on suspicion of the class A misdemeanor of obstruction of justice.
Flygare rented $11,432.81 worth of camera equipment from Allen’s Camera in Orem and did not return it, according to a police report.
Flygare reportedly had a friend sell the items online with serial numbers attached to it. An officer told Flygare on July 11 he needed to go to the police department. He reportedly hung up on the officer and didn’t go to police.
Flygare reportedly told police he sold some items and broke others. He reportedly told police he tried to work a deal with Allen’s Camera and was told not to return.
