Leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have issued surveys to missionaries around the world to assess how safe they feel as they serve their missions.

The anonymous survey is extremely thorough, asking the young men and women of the missionary force how safe they feel in their respective missions.

“This survey is to help us better understand the day-to-day experiences and perceptions of missionaries around the world related to physical safety,” reads a press release from the church.

Once the survey has been concluded, church leadership will use the information to make possible changes to its missionary safety guidelines and instructions.

“Missionaries are divinely watched over in the work they perform,” the statement reads. “However, we believe it’s important to understand their circumstances and make appropriate adjustments when needed.”

There are currently more than 62,000 missionaries serving throughout the world.
