On Dec. 17, 2010 an early morning fire engulfed the Provo Tabernacle in flames, burning for hours until all that was left was a shell and rubble. It took several months before authorities identified the cause of the fire and a year before new plans for Provo's old piece of history were announced.

Now, nine years later, the Provo City Center Temple sits inside the walls of the historic building, which has become an icon of downtown Provo. Take a look back at photos of that fateful fire.
