Payson's Golden Onion Days city celebration runs Aug. 29 through Sept. 2, and includes a full schedule of events for all ages. Here are 10 events you don’t want to miss.
Concert in the Park
Phil Vassar will headline the Payson Golden Onion Days' opening Concert in the Park. Sponsored by Mountain View Hospital, the concert starts at 6 pm. with seating open at 5 p.m.

Where: Peteetneet Amphitheater; 10 N. 600 East, Payson
City of Fun Carnival and Boutique N’ Food in the Park
Head to the City of Fun Carnival, where you will find boutique and food vendors. With thrilling rides, its a great event for the whole family.
When: 4-11 p.m. Friday; 12-11 p.m. Saturday; 4-10 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday

Payson High Fireworks and Pre-show
Fireworks are a staple of summer city celebrations and Payson's Golden Onion Days will have a great fireworks show Friday evening. Get there early and enjoy entertainment from Payson High School students, including the marching band, bagpipes, cheerleaders, Paysetters and the choir.

Mayor's Prayer Breakfast
Start your Saturday with breakfast and prayer. All denominations are welcome as the mayor hosts breakfast sponsored by the Interfaith Council.

Where: Memorial Park
You can watch kids parade through Payson on their trikes, bikes, scooters, strollers and whatever else kids like to ride these days. The theme of this year's children's parade is "Adventure Lives Here."
When: 9 a.m., Saturday
Where: North Side of Park View Elementary; 360 S. 100 East, Payson
Hitman Monster Truck Rides
Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience of riding in a monster truck.
When: 10 a.m.-dusk, Saturday; 11:30-dusk, Monday
Where: Field south of the Aquatic Center in Payson
Cost: $5 per ride for 16 and under, $10 a ride for 17 and older
Grand Prix Soap Box Derby
Called the Little Rascals Gravity Grand Prix, the city's soap box derby allows kids to build and race their own car. Pre-registration is required, but the event is free for entry.
When: 3 p.m., Saturday
Where: 100 S. 500 East, Payson
Celebrate your Labor Day in Payson with the Onion Days Grand Parade. The parade will make its way down Main Street.
When: 10 a.m., Monday

Payson's Biggest Onion Awards
What would Onion Days be without a display of onions? The Annual Flower and Art Show will include not only beautiful art and flowers, but entries for Payson's biggest onion.
Public Viewing: 2-6 p.m., Sunday; 2:30-5:30 p.m., Monday
Where: Peteetneet Museum; 10 N. 600 East, Payson
The Great Peteetneet Duck Race
This event is new to the 2019 Onion Days celebration, and will be a fundraiser for the Peteetneet Museum. Adopt a duck for $5 or you can adopt five ducks and get the sixth free.
The ducks will race, with prizes for the first four ducks that cross the finish line.
