From Simon Says to Nativity scenes, Utah is the home of quite a few world record holders.
Here are 10 interesting world records set in the Beehive State.
Largest modeling balloon sculpture by an individual
In July 2015, Jeremy Telford set the Guinness world record for the largest modeling balloon sculpture built by an individual. He built the sculpture of a dog lying on the ground at Thanksgiving Point. The sculpture measured 64 feet, 11 inches long.
Largest scavenger hunt
Google Fiber in Provo, along with Downtown Provo Inc. and Cotopaxi, set the Guinness record for largest scavenger hunt in the world in September 2014. The scavenger hunt included 2,079 participants and was called "Passport to Provo."
Most living figures in a nativity scene
In December 2014, participants in Provo set the Guinness World Record for the most figures in a living nativity with 1,039 people. The event was hosted by The Radiant Foundation and featured Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, wise men, live animals and hundreds of angels.
Largest word search
This Guinness World Book record for the largest word search was set by American Fork's Mel Crow. According to Guinness, the puzzle includes 51,000 letters arranged in 204 columns and 250 rows. The puzzle was printed on a 10 foot by 15.5 foot poster and was displayed at the Eagle Gate College Campus in Layton.
Longest fingernails on a pair of female hands ever
Lee Redmond, a Salt Lake City resident, set the record for the longest fingernails in 2008. She began growing and manicuring them in 1979 and they reached a total length of 28 feet, 4.5 inches. In 2009, she broke her nails in a car accident.
The Guinness world record for largest tonsils was set by Patrick Kelleher in West Jordan in May 2014. Kelleher's tonsils were 2.4 inches wide and 1.2 inches thick.
The largest game of Follow the Leader
The Guinness world record for the largest game of follow the leader was set by Dimension Data & Playworks in Salt Lake City in November 2015. According to Guinness, the game included 768 participants who were 4th and 5th grade "junior coaches" from Playworks who received a Chromebook at the conclusion of the event.
Largest game of Simon Says
The Guinness world record for the largest game of Simon Says had 12,215 participants at the Utah Summer Games Opening Ceremony in Cedar City in June 2007.
Largest gathering of people wearing only underpants
The 2011 Undie Run in Salt Lake City set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing only underwear with 2,270 participants. According to Guinness, the "event was organized to challenge the perception that Utah is an 'uptight' state."
Longest continuous car skid
The Guinness record for the longest skid mark -- on a road -- was made by the jet-powered Spirit of America driven by Norman Craig Breedlove when the car went out of control at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1964. The skid marks were nearly six miles long.
